Whether you are looking to enjoy a nice walk, view nature and wildlife, or have a picnic, Sumter Island Trails adds to the unique qualities of Sumter Landing. The private trails offer community members the peace and tranquility of unspoiled wooded acreage, views of the Savannah River, and lovely shaded nature trails. 

The entrance to Sumter Island Trails is located next to the Pool and  Pavilion area and feature a peaceful 1.5 mile walking trail along the Savannah River.

As you walk along the beautiful trail you will cross a bridge over the backwaters of the Savannah River onto Sumter Island. 

Along the path where it meets the Savannah River you will find picnic tables where you and your family can stop to have a picnic or sit and enjoy the peaceful views of the river.  There is also a private day dock with direct access to the river - perfect for canoes and kayaks!
